Our Commitments

to a Responsible and Sustainable Industry

Our 4 Key Commitments

Our first step was to define the four major commitments that shape our day-to-day actions. They are the result of a collective effort.

1. Rethinking our business model

We believe in a business that combines performance with sustainability. We are working towards a more circular and service-oriented model, making better use of resources and reducing waste.

2. Reducing the environmental impact of our operations

We have reduced our energy consumption and are rethinking our energy mix by increasing the use of renewable energy. We have also cut down the amount of waste we generate and introduced the right treatment and recycling channels. We are fortunate to benefit from a natural environment that we strive to protect every day.

3. Embodying a responsible and attractive industrial company

Our employees are our greatest asset. We foster a healthy, motivating and attractive working environment that encourages collaboration, professional growth and well-being.

4. Strengthening the company’s value to society
By opening our doors and sharing our expertise, we help promote our region and raise awareness of industry among younger generations.

To better understand our approach, please see our press release announcing our Responsability Europe Label by AFNOR Certification.

A Collective Approach

Our CSR approach is led by a dedicated committee and supported by cross-functional working groups bringing together employees from a range of roles and departments. Together, they keep our CSR initiatives moving forward every day. This organisation reflects our commitment to making CSR a practical, shared and meaningful part of everyday operations, closely connected to the realities of the workplace.

To encourage as many employees as possible to get involved, Management has created a supportive framework by allocating two hours per month of working time for volunteers to contribute to CSR projects.

We are proud that more than half of our employees are voluntarily involved in working groups, demonstrating how deeply CSR is embedded in our day-to-day activities.

Two External Recognitions, One Shared Ambition

In 2025, Sofinor was awarded the Engagé RSE label by AFNOR Certification at Confirmed level.

Based on ISO 26000, this label is awarded following an on-site assessment carried out by an external evaluator. It is built on 55 criteria, including links to the Sustainable Development Goals, and recognises the overall maturity of a company’s CSR approach, its governance, its management framework and its commitment to continuous improvement. The label is awarded for three years, with a mid-term follow-up assessment.

In 2026, Sofinor was also awarded the EcoVadis Bronze Medal.

EcoVadis assesses company performance across four areas: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. The Bronze Medal recognises companies ranked among the top 35% of those evaluated over the previous 12 months, based on a benchmark covering all sectors.

These two assessments complement each other: the AFNOR label recognises the maturity and strength of our CSR approach, while EcoVadis confirms its clarity and recognition within our customer and supplier ecosystem.

PRODUCT LIFETIME

Stainless steel has an exceptionally long lifetime, often exceeding 50 years, depending on its use and environment.

It has the advantage of being 100% recyclable and benefits from well-organized collection, depollution, and reuse channels.

This allows us to use stainless steel in our production that is made up of 80% recycled material, significantly reducing our environmental impact.

ENERGY OPTIMIZATION

Low-voltage lighting is now standard across all our manufacturing workshops.

Additionally, our workshops are partially heated using energy recovered from machine cooling systems.

Following an energy audit conducted in 2024 and the planned installation of solar panels in 2025, we will reach our goal of covering 50% of our total electricity consumption with self-generated energy by 2026.

LOGISTICS & TRANSPORTATION

For years, 90% recycled cardboard packaging has replaced plastic packaging for our products.

We optimize packaging to facilitate transport pooling with our logistics partner Heppner, which has long been committed to a strong CSR strategy.

We have also implemented a sustainable travel policy, prioritizing low-emission commercial vehicles and encouraging the use of carbon-offset public transportation.

Through these commitments, we are laying the foundations for a more sustainable,
more human-centered company that is focused on the future.

Our CSR plan and its progress are shared with all employees, who voluntarily participate in the various working groups.

We support associations that help people in need. After a successful toy drive to brighten the daily lives of hospitalized children, we continued our efforts for the Ludopital association by taking part in the Foulées Ludopital charity run.

We open our doors to students, job seekers, and trainees to introduce them to our professions and expertise. And who knows? We might even inspire future careers!
